The Dita Insider-Two is a frame celebrating Hollywood’s Golden Age of creativity, restraint, and timeless iconic style. Born from a classic oversized optical frame from the 1940s film noir era, the second in the Insider series maintains the original character of the first but with a futuristic touch.
Inspired by neo-futurist conceptual artists of the ’50s and ’60s, we created a new silhouette designed to be lighter and more durable than the original Insider. Designed with an innovative new frame technique that creates razor-thin profile geometries, the entire frame is born through an innovative stainless steel core lamination process, 50% thinner than traditional acetate and more than twice as thin or resistant. This architectural design creates a unique contrast of volume and lightness that evolves Insider’s legacy. Due to the level of R&D and technical acuity involved in manufacturing, the stainless steel core lamination process takes three times longer to produce than the original Insider.
Due to the high demands imposed by the lamination process, only a limited facility in Japan has perfected the technique.
